Myopia The myopic eye has sharp near vision, but objects in the distance seem blurred. This is the result of the eye ball being too long, respectively the refractive power of the eye being too strong, i.e. the focus point of penetrating light is not on the retina but in front of the retina. Myopia can be corrected with spherical single vision lenses with minus dioptric values.
